Christopher began studying composition privately with Paul Wilson at Queens University, Belfast. He gained a BMus(Hons) at Birmingham Conservatoire with Joe Cutler and Lamberto Coccioli and is currently a PhD student at the Sonic Arts Research Centre under the supervision of Professor Michael Alcorn

In 2002, he completed a semester at the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris where his tutor was Frederic Durieux. During this time he also studied computer-assisted composition with Marco Stroppa, electro-acoustic composition with Luis Naon and Yann Geslin and real-time and interactive electronics with Tom Mays.

Christopher has had his music performed across the UK and abroad by students and professional artists. Notably by Ian Pace, Darragh Morgen, Mary Dullea and Nancy Ruffer and the ensembles Apartment House, Psappha, Nosferatu, Endymion Ensemble, Uroboros and BCMG (Birmingham Contemporary Music Group). He has participated in workshops led by Diana Burrell (2001), Brian Ferneyhough (2003) and Anthony Gilbert (2003).

In 2001 and 2003 he had works performed at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival’s and in January 2002 he presented a concert of his music at Birmingham Conservatoire, featuring Ian Pace. He received a highly commended award in June 2002 from the Royal Philharmonic Society for the work he entered into their composition prize.
Christopher composes for both acoustical instruments and technology and he is particularly interested in interactive performance networks and computer-assisted-composition. In 2002 he was involved in an interactive video and audio project with Australian moving image artist Emma Macey.
