Saxophonist, improviser, computer musician, and composer. Currently a PhD student at the Sonic Arts Research Centre, Queen's University Belfast. His research focus is on the development of skill with digital musical interactions and how this process informs the design of novel musical instruments. As a musician, his music focuses on improvisation and the electronic manipulation of sounds in real-time. Influenced by Jazz, Western European concert music, free improvisation, electronic music, and ethnic musics, his improvisations and compositions attempt to synthesize all of these elements into a very personal style. He has participated in numerous projects with the Trummerflora Collective, the Spectrum Saxophone Quartet, and is part of the electroacoustic duo Birthdays and Funerals amongst other independent projects. He is also a founding member of the Mexican improvisation collective Generación Espontánea and the N0R73 multimedia collective. As an educator, he actively taught saxophone lessons for many years in his private music studio and was an adjunct instructor of digital audio, music acoustics, music perception and cognition at Cogswell Polytechnical College in Sunnyvale, California. His debut recording, The Paradox of Continuity, was released in 2007 on the California-based music label Circumvention Music.
