Isobel is a sound artist, singer-songwriter and visual artist originally from Brighton. She graduated with a First in Music at Dartington College of Arts in 2006, and afterwards moved to London where she self-released her first solo EP. She also worked for organisations such as The Society for the Promotion of New Music and the Hip Hop theatre company, Jonzi D Productions. Isobel moved to Belfast to study for an MA in Sonic Arts at Queens University in September 2009 and graduated in 2010 with a Distinction. She is now studying for a practice-led PhD at SARC researching how contemporary artistic practices, and more traditional traditions such as folklore, communicate a sense of place through narrative and sound.
In 2010 Isobel released her debut album "Cold Water Songs", a collection of songs spanning 12 months.
Isobel's music has been broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio 3's Late Junction and her installations have been exhibited at Belfast's Linen Hall Library and Chester Performs' festival of Performance Art, 'Up The Wall 2010'.
